Fancy a Sunday grill this Father’s Day?

Come join us at 12pm for an afternoon of screenprinting demonstrations at 12pm, talks to be given by Jenny Cuthbert, William-Guillaume Saussay and Phil Soliman from 1pm, and a fancy barbecue to go with it. Grab a gourmet sausage sanga, and hear about our artists’ work, methods and inspirations. Here’s a chance to get out that question you’ve been dying to ask, and meet the people behind your favourite works.

At 3pm, take a leisurely stroll down to the Art Gallery of NSW and gawk at some art with us.

And bring your dad. Actually, bring anyone’s dad.

CONFIRMED: WOOLLOOMOOLOO FESTIVAL ON WHEELS LINE-UP AND EXHIBITION PREVIEW. Friday 23 July 6-9pm & Saturday 24 July 10am-6pm.

A two day celebration of Woolloomooloo, with it’s new separated cycle paths, emerging arts scene and general loveliness. The festival encourages dialog about cycling in Sydney and the council’s vision for a greener, more sustainable city.

Featuring an exhibition of art related to the theme of cycling and sustainability, plus a festival day filled with live music, a DJ, a BBQ, cycling stunts, cycling film screenings and a cycle swap meet, where cycling enthusiasts from all over Sydney meet to buy, sell and exchange bikes and bike parts.

Special guests include former NRL player, and actor, Ian Roberts, and Showtime Movie News host Nell Schofield, who will be presenting her short film “I NY Cycleways”

Kids and adults alike are encouraged to bring their bikes and soak up the festival atmosphere.

Organised by Monstrosity Gallery and Sable and Argent Cycle Store, and generously sponsored by Ascella Pure Organic Wines

Woolloomooloo Festival on Wheels – Friday 23 July, 6-9pm & Saturday 24 July, 10am-6pm

Sydney has copped a bad rap recently about its less-than-friendly attitude towards cyclists. To show how much we love our wheeled friends, and their lovable greenie ways, Monstrosity is pleased to announce the Woolloomooloo Festival on Wheels in conjunction with the fabulous Sable and Argent Cycle Shop on Bourke St. The festival sees the launch of an exhibition of art related to sustainable living at Monstrosity Gallery on Friday, and on Saturday there’s a cycle swap meet, live bands, cycling stunts, a DJ and a BBQ. This major event heralds a groundswell of enthusiasm for a greener, more sustainable city, while recognising Woolloomooloo’s growing reputation as an artistic and cultural hub.

We offer small group yoga classes for only $12.00 per class, on Thursday Mornings at 7.45am.

ABOUT HARSUKH:

Harsukh Kaur is based in Sydney but believes wherever her heart is, is her home. Harsukh means “love and peace” and her Kundalini yoga classes are always heart centered, supportive, encouraging, with an element of playfulness.

She loves exploring her inner spiritual world and the outer physical world, which is expressed by her traveling.

As a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher, she’s excited about sharing the ancient knowledge with the modern world and is passionate about healing. She is a spiritual tourist – a spirit being born as a human being

Harsukh welcomes beginners to all of her classes and is available for private classes, and for yoga & meditation classes tailored to the individual. Sat Nam!

Abducted Teddybears’ Picnic

Monstrosity would like to invite you and your beloved teddy or fluffy creature to come have a picnic in our gallery. We’ll have tea and cakes, selected artists will give a floor talk about their work, and finally, all applicable fluffy toys will be ABDUCTED and imprisoned inside a perspex lightbox, becoming part of our permanent collection, on the front of the gallery!

Light picnic foods and rugs are provided. Entry is by donation of plush toy/s (old, new or handmade!) Children are welcome, and must be accompanied by an adult.

The fun begins at 1pm, Friday June 11, and goes til 2:30pm.

Bookings are essential: Please email info@monstrosity.com.au now with the subject: Teddybear, and advise how many (human) guests will attend. Numbers are limited. Hope to see you there!
